India is my country. Proud to be an India. India has many claims to fame.
India was granted Independence on 15th Aug 1947 from Colonial British rule. Of all the countries in Asia, India is the biggest democratic country. It is spread over 3,287,590 sq. km., from North to South by 3214 km and East to West by 2933 km. It is surrounded on three sides by ocean and sea, while the North is dominated by the world’s youngest, however, highest mountains called the Himalayas.
At the foot of the Himalayas runs the country’s most prestigious, sacred river, the Ganges. Under its influence, the northern part of the country has become one of die most fertile lands in the world. Besides, there are many holy, perennial rivers like Narmada, Kaveri, Yamuna and many others.
India has 28 states and seven Union territories. Perhaps it is the only country in the world where people of all religions live in unison. There are 26 Languages in India including Hindi as the official language, there are as many as 2.5 different languages spoken by different people! This cleared the path for over hundred celebrations in India almost throughout the year. And each celebration rejoices a message of high moral values.
Ancient India had numerous noteworthy specialities. The world’s first language ‘Sanskrit’ was born in India! Thus in every walks of life, India had been the torchbearer to the entire world. The tension for the Basic education, Mathematics, Engineering, Warfare, Universities, Science, Martial arts, Indus Civilisation, Upanishads, Art & Culture, Vedas, Great Structures and Temples, like Lord Shiva temple in Tanjore India established by Rajaraja Chola – the list could go on endless!
While ancient India had many claims, die modern India is no lesser than that. The green revolution helped India to have self-sufficiency in harvesting.
India achieved steady growth in every front. Now it (India) manufactures all its want and need not import any tiling from anywhere, except for petroleum products.
Recently our ISRO has sent a rocket ‘Chandirayan’ to the moon. It again proves that India will one day become a great nation of Japan. It is rich in cultural heritage. This holy land is the birthplace of many greatest saints like Buddha, Adi Sankara, Ramanuja, etc. More than anything else, the virtues to mankind are mentioned in the Book of Bhagwadgita, it enlightens all good virtues to mankind irrespective of one’s religion.
Is India remains a high-profile country in die international arena? And I feel proud to be a son of this oil.
